How to Fix USB Device Not Recognized In Window




Sometimes, when you plug a USB device to your Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 computer, 
you may receive a USB Device Not Recognized pop up message. If this happens to you try these...

Solution 1

  - Remove Power Supply plug from your computer
  1.  Remove your Power Supply plug from PC.
  2.  Now Restart your PC.
  3.  Now connect your USB device to the USB ports. That’s it.
  4.  After the USB device connected to your PC, then plug in Power Supply to PC.

Solution 2 
  - Uninstall unknown USB device
  1.  Open RUN (Windows Logo + R) and type “devmgmt.msc” and click OK.
  2.  Now expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3.  Attach your device which is not recognized.
  4.  You will see an Unknown USB device (Port reset failed) with yellow sign in Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  5. Now right-click on it and click Uninstall to remove them.
  6.  Now restart your PC, the drivers are automatically reinstall after restart.


Solution 3 

  - Reinstall USB Drivers
  1.  Open Device Manager (Right Click on Windows Logo and Click Device Manager).
  2.  Now find and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Now right click on USB drivers and click Uninstall. Do for all USB drivers one by one.
  3.   Now Restart your PC. The USB drivers are automatically re-install and solve the corrupted USB devices.

Solution 4 

  - Install the Latest Windows Updates
  1. Click the Start button, type Windows Update in the Search box, then click Windows Update in the results pane.
  2. Click Check for Updates. After the scan is complete, click Review optional updates.
  3. Click the check box next to the updates, then click Install updates.
  4. If prompted, review the license agreement, then click I Accept.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the updates.
  6. If prompted, reboot your computer.
  7. If your problem still exits, proceed to Method 5.
Solution 5 

  - Change the USB selective suspend setting

     1. Search Power options in Window Search.
     2. Click Change plan settings.

     3. Now click Change advanced power settings.


     4. Find and expand USB settings.

     5. Expand USB selective suspend settings and Disable both On battery and Plugged in settings.


Then Click Apply and OK to save the settings. That’s it.
